Martial Arts in Washington DC
DC families train real Brazilian jiu-jitsu at our family-owned GFTeam academy — just across the District line in Takoma Park, on the Red Line. Your first class is free.
The DC academy's shortest commute
For families in Takoma DC, Brightwood, Manor Park, Fort Totten, Riggs Park, and Michigan Park, WDC BJJ isn't a trip across town — it's the neighborhood academy, just across the Maryland line at 720 Erie Ave in Takoma Park. District students have trained here since 2015, including families from the DC Bilingual community we've served for over a decade. If you live in Northeast DC specifically, our Northeast DC page goes deeper on your neighborhoods.

What our community says
We moved to Takoma Park from Brazil and were so happy to find Deivid Dias and his Jiu Jitsu dojo right in TP. My son had practiced Jiu Jitsu in Brazil and was hoping to continue his training. Deivid has been wonderful about finding the right training class for him and he has found a jiu jitsu family here in the US. We are very happy with the dojo and with the training he is receiving.
Professor Deivid and Charlene are super supportive and know just how to challenge you. Everyone is extremely welcoming and kind. Highly recommend trying out a class.
The atmosphere and community are unlike anywhere else! The coaches and programs are incredible and everyone is welcome! I highly recommend for youth and adults alike!
